DUBLIN - Realex Payments announced today it is undertaking a recruitment drive to fill 50 vacancies urgently, as a result of winning a significant deal in the UK.
While details of the deal have not been announced it involves Realex Payments providing an outsourced arrangement to a financial institution for its retailer’s online payment processing. As a result of the deal, Realex Payments will effectively double its client base from 5,000 to 10,000 retailers over the next 12 months.
The majority of the new roles will be based in the company’s Monkstown office and are across various business areas, including customer service, product management and IT.
CEO and founder of Realex Payments, Colm Lyon said “Over the last few years , we have invested heavily in expanding our operations throughout Europe – our UK business is now boarding almost 100 retailers a month, we opened in Paris earlier this year and are now live processing into local French banks. In addition we have established initial operations in Amsterdam and we are live with an Italian bank. Our overseas customers now account for over 50% of our transaction volume.

Realex Payments also announced its year end results, achieving its ninth consecutive year of sustained revenue growth. Revenue increased 10%, reaching €7.6million for the year ending 30th April 2010. The company remained profitable while continuing to invest heavily in future growth, both inside and outside of Ireland. As well as investing in Carapay, its new licenced subsidiary company, which recently joined the Irish Clearing system.
Realex Payments now processes in excess of €12bn per annum for 5,000 retailers in over 25 countries.
