Lebara chooses Adyen's payment platform

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS | Adyen, the global payments company, has today announced that Lebara, the award winning mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) for foreign nationals, has gone ‘live’ on the Adyen payment platform across its online and mobile-optimised websites in the United Kingdom, with further rollout to follow in Germany, France, Spain and Denmark.

Adyen will provide Lebara with the strong, flexible payment backbone it needs to support instant credit top-up, in addition to SIM card purchase and recurring payment functionality.

The Lebara Group

The Lebara Group was founded in 2001 with a vision to transform the international calling market by making it easier for migrant communities to stay in touch with friends and family back home. More than ten years on, Lebara has become one of Europe’s fastest-growing MVNO, with over four million active customers and operations in seven countries across Europe and in Australia. In choosing Adyen, Lebara plugs into one of the broadest payment networks in the world, with the flexibility and functionality to support any requirement.

Hosted Payment Pages

Lebara will use Adyen’s Hosted Payment Pages, with fully customisable ‘skins’ designed for its online and mobile-optimised websites. This means that Lebara’s customers will benefit from a completely streamlined payment process, with all distracting elements removed from the payment page. In addition, Adyen’s advanced risk management system will support the new payment service, ensuring that Lebara is now able to minimise the acceptance of fraudulent transactions and maximise the number of genuine transactions it processes.

Adyen platform to support Lebara's growth

“Lebara provides an essential mobile service to many millions of people across Europe, with a lot more expected to join in the near future,” explained Roelant Prins, Chief Commercial Officer, Adyen. “Adyen is delighted to provide Lebara with the proactive payment expertise it needs to support this rapid international growth and we look forward to tailoring our global payment solution to fit all of its payment requirements.”

“Lebara delivers low-cost and high quality services that enable our customers to stay connected with their family and friends, abroad and at home,” said Ratheesan Yoganathan, Chairman, Lebara. “We are pleased to partner with Adyen because it can support us in delivering these specialist payment services for the benefit of our customers.”
