GRECA (Greece) joins Ecommerce Europe

BRUSSELS | GRECA, the Greek ecommerce association, joins Ecommerce Europe as the 12th home shopping association. GRECA represents over 115 e-railers in Greece. Greece is one of the fastest growing online markets in Europe (+61% 2012 vs 2011). The Greek ecommerce market is projected to grow to almost € 3.2 billion in 2013.  



GRECA stands for GReek ECommerce Association, a national body that was established in 2012 in Greece by 22 e-commerce companies. By 2014 more than 115 members joined GRECA and its communication channels reach more than 2.000 senior e-commerce decision-makers in Greece. Key activities include networking, education, lobbying with the state and other national bodies, building trust to the consumers.


Collaboration with benefit Greece's ecommerce strategy

François Momboisse, President of the Board of Directors of Ecommerce Europe, is extremely pleased about the Greek e-commerce association becoming a member. After Austrian aCommerce, it is the second e-commerce association that joins Ecommerce Europe in a short time. “We are so proud to have Greece and Austria joining us. It shows the willingness to grow of both countries. When we look at the figures Ecommerce Europe published this year, we see a pretty impressive annual online expenditure per capita in 2012 in Greece. Greece has been hit harder than any other EU country by the economic crisis, but Greece is one of the fastest growing online markets in Europe”.
