8. What is your best advice to merchants expanding their business cross-border?

We would recommend merchants expanding their business cross-border to optimize their payment processes per country. A start would be to enable multiple currencies. In addition, we would recommend merchants to make use of an unlimited hierarchy.

This means that merchants can set payment environments per country that meet the payment habits of the country. For instance, in the Netherlands, iDEAL is the most popular payment method; in Belgium, the most common method is Bancontact; etc. Thirdly, we would advise merchants to set fraud setting per country.
