AMSTERDAM – Ticketscript, the European market leader in online, mobile and social ticketing solutions, has implemented the Adyen payment solution in their mobile ticketing application in order to enable people to buy tickets for events from their mobile device, pay for them and receive the ticket on their mobile as well. Shortly after the implementation in November 2011, the number of tickets paid for from a mobile phone was approximately 5% of the total number of tickets sold. After the first quarter of 2012 this percentage has grown up to 11%.
In line with the before mentioned growth expectations are that mobile ticket sales will become a major trend in the near future. With the Adyen platform, ticketscript can provide their customers a full service mobile solution. Currently ticketscript supports Paypal, Visa and Mastercard. The availability of iDeal for mobile will cause a leap in mobile payments and with Adyen, ticketscript will be able to integrate these payment options very smoothly
Frans Jonker, CEO of ticketscript, says: “Mobile ticketing presents benefits to the venue in addition to increased ticket sales on the day of the event, mobile tickets also reduce the risk of fraud as tickets cannot be forwarded to other mobiles. What's more, it is a free service for the event organizer. There is also the opportunity for the venues to gather mobile numbers from their ticket buyers and use ticketscript's bulk SMS marketing service to promote future events. All of this combined makes mobile ticketing the way forward for events and ticketscript's platform makes this possible with mobile ticket delivery, a mobile ticket shop, mobile marketing and now the mobile event app.”
The payment solutions for the ticketscript platform are facilitated by Adyen, the international provider of online and mobile payment solutions. Frans Jonker, CEO of ticketscript, says about this cooperation: "The choice for Adyen, being a new generation payment service provider, is based on the fact that they integrate seamless with our services. Their platform is based on ten years of e-commerce experience which fits the strong international expansion of ticketscript."
Roelant Prins, CCO of Adyen, adds: “The mobile payments market is currently seeing a huge uptake. With clients such as ticketscript, who always want to be one of the first when it comes to new technology, we can further adapt our methods in order to make sure we offer the best possible solutions for our clients.”
