NEW YORK | Entertainment media company Ravio, developer of the Angry Birds franchise of mobile games and merchandise, has selected US-based online payment processing services developer Braintree, as its gateway for the new online and mobile store which sells games, toys and apparel.
As a result, the Rovio online and mobile store is now able to accept payments in more than 130 different currencies worldwide while reducing PCI compliance scope. Braintree's mobile payment services are also aimed at addressing issues such as one-click checkout, bandwidth efficient transactions and encryption of credit card data on mobile devices.
Braintree currently processes over USD 4 billion in credit card transactions each year, including almost USD 1 billion in mobile payments. In recent news, Braintree has expanded its payments platform internationally to help digital companies worldwide launch, support and scale online and mobile businesses.
