Microsoft and Bango in carrier billing deal for Indonesian Market

Microsoft, unveiling a raft of product annoucements at its Build conference this week, is also making some advances further afield. Today, Bango, the UK-based mobile payments and analytics company that works with companies like Facebook, Amazon, Blackberry and Google so that app purchases can be billed directly to users’ phone bills, is announcing the first implementation of its service with Microsoft, on the Windows Phone Store. Specifically, Microsoft is turning it on in Indonesia, the largest mobile phone market in South East Asia with over 50 million users. The plan is to expand it to further markets in the near future.

mopay and Deutsche Telekom enable charges to phone accounts

GERMANY | mopay has entered into a carrier billing partnership with Deutsche Telekom. mopay’s core platform enables merchants of virtual, digital and physical goods to bill charges directly to consumers’ cell phone and land line accounts. While mopay enables digital merchants to integrate the mopay platform into their checkout process, Deutsche Telekom provides the backend billing capabilities.

Charge to Mobile now available as payment method for UK Windows Phone Store

LONDON | Following the success of direct carrier billing implementations with Windows Phone Store in Spain and Germany, Telefónica’s Global Payment System is now live allowing O2 customers in the UK to use ‘Charge to Mobile’ when making a mobile purchase through the Microsoft Windows Phone Store. 

txtNation expands mobile payments service to Switzerland

GENEVA | txtNation has now launched its Direct Operator Billing solution in Switzerland, via the country’s largest operator, Swisscom as part of its strategy for delivering first tier SMS messaging and mobile payments globally. As a successor to the former state-owned PTT (Post, Telegraph, Telephone), Swisscom has over 55% of the market share, with 5.4 million mobile customers.
