MasterPass arrives in Spain

MADRID | MasterPass, the digital wallet solution from MasterCard, is now available in Spain. After MasterPass' launch in the UK, followed by Italy and Sweden, Spain becomes the fourth European country to offer MasterPass for online payment checkout. eDreams, Logitravel and Atrápalo are some of the first Spanish online merchants that will accept MasterPass.


Klarna checkout option now available in V&D's webshop

AMSTERDAM | V&D, one of Dutch major online retailers, started today to accept Klarna, the 'payment after delivery' checkout method. The Klarna payment solution uses an invoice that is send to the shopper after delivery of the purchased goods. The benefit for Klarna shoppers is that they do not need a bank card, enter card details, pass 3D secure authentication checks or use cap readers or tan codes to complete purchases.

Mobile iDeal introduced by ING Bank Netherlands

Mobile Commerce Market Update 2013 | The Netherlands

VLEUTEN | In line with expectations, the Dutch mobile commerce market is gaining more and more traction. Based upon the M-commerce Monitor for the first half of 2013 published by Blauw Research, the total mobile commerce accounted for 550 million euro turnover (755 million USD), an increase of 67% compared to the second half of 2012. Rabobank: 10% of iDEAL payments through Mobile Banking App

VLEUTEN | Last September, Rabobank, one of the larger commercial banks in the Netherlands, updated its iOS and Android banking app to optimise iDEAL checkout on tablets and smartphones. Rabobank expects that the use of payment method iDEAL on mobile devices will take off in the coming months as checkout has been simplified and mobile checkout abandonment should drop.
