We started our journey towards making the world buyable back in 2005, in a basement in Stockholm. Then there were three of us, sharing a common dream of making shopping online safer, simpler and more fun. By taking all the credit and fraud risk, we could ensure that the store always gets paid. And by letting the customer receive the order first, and pay later, we could turn that dream into reality. Our payment options have made Klarna the European market leader in invoice based payment solutions, the basement has turned into offices in six countries, and the three students have turned into 900 passionate people who create new services that help people do business, across the globe. Together with our investors Sequoia Capital – who saw the same potential in Klarna as in Google, YouTube and Apple, and Hommels Holding – who have invested in Facebook, Skype and Spotify, we are pushing forward towards a future where e-commerce is safer, simpler and more fun.
