Aangesloten webwinkeliers hoeven hierdoor enkel de betaalmethode te activeren om hun klanten de mogelijkheid te bieden hun aankoop achteraf te betalen. De betaalmethode met acceptgiro is met name populair bij mensen die nog niet eerder iets online kochten of slechts zelden een aankoop doen via een webwinkel. Het achteraf betalen vergroot de bereidheid over te gaan tot aankoop en vergroot bovendien de kans op herhalingsaankopen. Daarnaast is er een grote groep consumenten die simpelweg de voorkeur geeft aan achteraf betalen bij een aankoop. Uit onderzoek van AfterPay blijkt dat het bieden van de mogelijkheid tot achteraf betalen kan leiden tot een omzetstijging van wel 30 procent.
