AMSTERDAM - The Netherlands | On November 12th, Europe's first Local Commerce event will take place in Amsterdam. The Loco Connect 2013 event will bring experts from across Europe to discuss the 'localisation of commerce' and the role of merchants and suppliers. Experts from across Europe will come together to discuss the latest trends and share industry practices.
Over the last two years the Local Commerce space has thrived internationally, with investments up to billions such as in Groupon, Amazon, Yelp, Square and many more. These and the investment and developments in Mobile Payments, Card Linked offers and Loyalty systems have drawn significant attention from the European market.
Media and online platforms have recognised the potential of local commerce, like Square which is building a recommendation engine in addition to its payments system. Advertising for merchants & retailers has become much more targeted. Technology and local based marketing concepts drive the localisation of advertising and make it possible to offer relevant deals using customers' postal codes or exact location.
“It is time that Europe has its first Local Commerce event, bringing together industry leaders so that expertise and guidance can finally be shared” says Stavros Prodromou, organizer of Loco Connect 2013. Providers have seen that through collaboration and partnership you can achieve not only a stronger brand, but also a better service to merchants & customers” Stavros adds.
Speakers and partners confirmed for the event include Kerstin Trikalitis, CEO of OutThere Media, Miguel Giribet, Country Manager Spain at Privalia, Lauren Indvik, Associate Editor at Mashable, Mark Henkel, Founder & CEO of Paymill, Steffen W. Frolund, Founder & CEO of Bownty, Thorsten Mattig, MD of BMW, Justin Cooke, CMO of Topshop and Redeem&Get.
