HAMBURG | Computop's Paygate payment platform is now available through IBM Websphere Commerce, a platform enabling merchants to easily interact with customers for cross-channel commerce.
IBM Websphere Commerce Plug-In
IBM WebSphere Commerce provides a customer interaction platform for cross-channel commerce. It can be used by companies of all sizes, from small businesses, to large enterprises, and for many different industries. It provides easy-to-use tools for business users to centrally manage a cross-channel strategy.
The IBM Websphere Commerce Plug-in allows national and international payment methods to be integrated smoothly and quickly. “Thanks to complete pre-configuration of the payment methods, the module reduces the integration costs by up to 90 percent," says Stefan Grieben, member of the Management Board of novomind, one of the larger implementation partners of IBM Websphere Commerce.
Supported Payment Methods
The Computop payment module for IBM WCS is integrated into the normal checkout process and communicates with the Paygate payment platform of payment service provider Computop. The integration processes make a distinction between credit card payments such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express or debit cards and online payment methods such as PayPal or “Sofortüberweisung”. The advantage is that all payment methods can be integrated into the online shop via a single interface. It is also possible to adjust the Computop credit card template to the operator’s own design. In nearby future more online payment methods will be added.
Tokens support Repeat Order Billing
The credit card data is always processed in the PCI-DSS compliant Computop systems and no credit card data is stored in the systems of the online shop. Nevertheless, online retailers and businesses are able to use credit card data for repeat orders by using Computop's Paygate feature to use 'pseudo card numbers'. This feature enables merchants to use tokens to instruct the Paygate Platform to bill a specific card number. Especially for merchants within returning customers or recurring billing for e.g. memberships, an important feature.
