Context: what is Ukash?
Ukash has become a globally-recognised payment method that enables online transactions using cash, providing freedom from credit and debit card fraud and chargebacks, and protecting personal identity. Companies benefit from accepting Ukash because it opens up new markets to which they can sell their goods and services online. Many people don't have credit or debit cards, or even bank accounts, and some are simply reluctant to give their financial details online. Consumers simply exchange cash for a unique Ukash code. This unique 19 digit codes can then be used to pay directly on any of the thousands of websites that accept Ukash transactions worldwide, or loaded onto prepaid cards and e-wallets.
QIWI Brazil was established in 2013 and forms part of the QIWI Group, which operates payment services in 20 countries worldwide. QIWI’s payment services use POS terminals and card vending machines providing access to a range of services. Consumers can process cash and electronic payments via personal bank accounts, mobile phone accounts and social network currencies and QIWI’s new partnership with Ukash offers consumers in Brazil access to Ukash online cash service, giving them even more choice for paying and playing online. QIWI Brazil terminals are accessible in convenience stores, petrol stations and other small retailers across the country.
“This partnership further strengthens our global network, establishing Ukash as a flexible payment provider in Brazil and meeting the growing demand for online shopping in the region” explained Miranda McLean, Marketing Director, Ukash. “QIWI’s extensive network of terminals means we can offer Brazilian shoppers the freedom and convenience of safe online cash payments with Ukash.”
